SPNB Idaman Rumah Rakyat

The apartment. A initiative by Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB, a national housing development under the purview of Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT). The idea is provide a low cost residential unit for the people whilst maintaining the visual and contemporary look in addition to lowering material and construction cost of the development. It compromises of hundreds of units which include 1,2 and 3 bedrooms within the compound. The grey envelope of the facade is highly influenced by the grey clay of the landscape and sinks well within the green tropical surroundings. The roof grill above provides shading whilst it play around with the shadows. The white give a relaxing and clean look for the building. Hence, providing a welcoming view for residents.

The podium, a seperate entity of the dwell space. This includes a 7 storey car park for tenants, a retail space on top and below, a public swimming pool, a hall and a prayer room. Residents hoever, can oversee the pool and play spaces from above which give them a welcoming and fun place to stay whilst maintaining privacy and also engage with their neighbours if they wish to. The podium design is overall minimal without any additional fins or grill which is not necessary as the tower blocks hides the podium from the tropical heat. Overall, the design is quite simplistic which maintaining an elegant look throughout the entire development.
